Mission Statement
To support the growth of the credit union
movement and financial literacy through education
and public awareness of credit unions.
The North Dakota Credit Union League Family
Involvement Team is a volunteer committee that
was created in the early seventies in efforts
to support the growth of the credit union movement
by developing youth and teen marketing initiatives
as well as encouraging credit unions to become
more involved in youth financial education
through classroom presenting.
As a volunteer committee of the North Dakota
Credit Union League, the FIT follows its own
bylaws and manages its own budget. The FIT
is made up of credit union employees from the
seven regions of the state and strives to maintain
equal or adequate representation from different
asset-size credit unions. The FIT welcomes
a total of 14 members. It is the responsibility
of the FIT to recruit members from across the
state every two years, allowing the current
members to maintain their role on the Committee,
if they so choose, or to step down to allow
another volunteer from their region to serve.
The FIT elects a chair, vice-chair and secretary
from within the Committee once a year at their
annual meeting that is held in conjunction
with the League annual meeting. To provide
additional support and structure, a League
liaison is directly involved in all FIT activities.
The liaison is responsible for reporting the
FIT’s activities to the NDCUL Board of
Directors.
